Just when you thought that tax is difficult enough to understand in itself, you are then confronted by a whole new language. Between trying to sort out your STCs from your SBCs, and trying to understand what Sars means by "in the furtherance of one's trade" (isn't it obvious), you can be forgiven for finding the whole thing quite confusing.
To help you put yourself out of your misery, we at MoneywebTax have compiled a glossary of tax and other terms for you, which we call "TaxSpeak".
If a story appearing on this site contains tax jargon, we'll link the word to this page so that you know what we are talking about. After all, even though TaxSpeak is not one of South Africa's official languages, it is probably one of the most important "languages" to know when it comes to understanding your taxes.
This section will be continually updated as the legislators, Sars, and the courts add more and more new words to that body of language called TaxSpeak.
